Federal Emergency Management Agency

FEMA coordinates the response to a disaster that has occurred in the United States and that overwhelms the resources of local and state authorities. The governor of the state in which the disaster occurs must declare a state of emergency and formally request from the president that FEMA and the federal government respond.

Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) prepares for, responds to, recovers from and mitigates against disasters and emergencies. The department maintains the State Emergency Operations Center which serves as a command center for reporting emergencies and coordinating state response activities. OEM delivers service to Oklahoma cities, towns and counties through the network of more than 400 local emergency managers.

OK-Warn stands for Oklahoma Weather Alert Remote Notification - a service that provides notification of weather hazards and emergencies to deaf and hard-of-hearing Oklahomans via pager, e-mail or cell phone.

Oklahoma State Department of Health Emergency Preparedness for functional needs population page
